II Gender-Affirming Health Forum, now in London!

Gender Affirming Healthcare is necessary along the journey of self-realization for many trans people, which is a monumental effort that may take years.

Beyond the psychological, physical and hormonal transformation, with the massive time and economic investments this entails, trans healthcare is pivotal in aligning one’s external appearance with their internal identity. It is not a phase, it is a basic human right.

For these and many more reasons, the Gender-Affirming Health Forum was created. Facialteam is bringing leading expertise to London on 26 November 2024. Are you coming?

Our Team in London for the Forum

Our surgeons and FFS Specialists, Dr. Luis Capitán and Dr. Raúl Bellinga, will be presenting alongside a team of 13 experts, including myself.

Facialteam is hosting the 2nd Gender Affirming Health Forum with Experts in TGD Care on Tuesday, 26th November 2024 with the support of several organizations from the United Kingdom.

The Forum is an initiative of Facialteam, with roots in similar congresses in Australia since 2015 aimed at bringing together specialists in Gender Affirming Healthcare to raise visibility of the sector but primarily to attend to the needs of women in transition without straightforward access to quality care by local professionals

The 2nd Gender Affirming Health Forum

If you are starting to look into gender transition options, the Forum will be ideal to get a variety of expert advice from both dedicated care providers as well as people who have a story to tell

You will come out equipped with a better understanding of what different gender-affirming services are available, with many questions answered and better prepared for any future consultations you may seek.

There is a lot to think about, so join us and bring your questions. There is no fee to attend. Remember, your friends and family are more than welcome too, but be sure to pre-register!

The Forum is an initiative of Facialteam, with roots in similar congresses in Australia since 2015 aimed at bringing together specialists in Gender Affirming Healthcare to raise visibility of the sector but primarily to attend to the needs of women in transition without straightforward access to quality care.

The forum contributes to the growth of the gender-affirming healthcare sector, which is evolving rapidly but still not readily available in all countries. Those navigating their gender-affirming journey will benefit from an educational orientation process that helps them weigh the current options and to feel more empowered while making important healthcare decisions and researching which experienced professionals are right for them.

The Gender-Affirming Health Forum is an interactive community event which has been developed so that people navigating their own gender transition may access more in-depth information, meet select international providers and also connect with others in the community who share the same journey.

See you in London!

The Gender Affirming Health Forum champions the vital role of gender-affirming healthcare at a time when this message is more important than ever. The unique medical, psychological, and social needs of transgender and gender-diverse (TGD) individuals must be addressed to ensure their well-being and equality in healthcare.

This forum serves as a dynamic platform where healthcare professionals, researchers, and advocates come together to share:

  • evidence-based practices;
  • close gaps in care;
  • and discuss the latest advancements in transgender and nonbinary healthcare.

The GAHF creates something new: an interactive space where family members and allies can openly discuss transition-related healthcare in a supportive environment alongside experts in the field. We hope this event will underscore the urgency of accessible, equitable, and inclusive healthcare for people of all gender identities, working to reduce the disparities that impact TGD communities.

Additionally, the GAHF aims to inspire other healthcare providers to offer compassionate, informed consent-based care, advocating for our LGBTIQ+ families and friends.

Help us in advancing a future of healthcare for all, free of discrimination, and come along or share the news. Hope to see you there!

Secure your spot now!

    Hello world! I’m Lilia Koss and I use she, her, and they pronouns. What are yours? With a background in humanities and diverse professional experiences, I have been working with the Facialteam founders and directors since 2008. Involved from the ground up, so I’ve had hands in many pots: patient coordination, orientation events on 3 continents, social media, written and audiovisual content about our gender-affirming healthcare...but now life is more defined. Lately, I focus my energies on Public Relations, community management and live streaming to help raise the visibility of trans health. Life is pretty complete.
