Facialteam’s Commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusivity and Accessibility

In the face of change in the transparency policy of the media channels we all use, which has now put our patient community in a more vulnerable position, Facialteam remains firm in its values.
How DEIA Is Invaluable.
HR experts point out that companies that maintain strong DEIA commitments are more likely to enhance brand loyalty as well as foster improved workplace morale.
Embedding inclusivity in the core of our DNA has been natural for Facialteam, with both staff and patients representing people from the five corners of the planet and all walks of life.
Although research consistently demonstrates that diverse teams drive innovation, foster engagement, and achieve higher financial performance, we believe it is also fair to view DEI itself as a process in evolution with the modern world, a process in need of reinvention– NOT removal.
The Void Left by Rapid Erasure of DEIA
A total retreat from DEIA initiatives sends a damaging message about a company’s values and commitment to human rights. Anti-DEIA movements reverse progress on fundamental protections for marginalized groups, leaving a void for environments of exclusion and discrimination.
Reports from the ILGA and the UN Human Rights Council (HRC) highlight the negative impacts of retracting policy protecting LGBTIQ communities from hate speech, demonstrating how discrimination not only harms individuals but also erodes social and economic stability (ILGA Report, UN HRC Report).
Actionable Steps for Companies to Promote DEIA
1. Double Down on Allyship
- Invest in Proactive Allyship Training: Educate employees on why allyship matters and equip them with tools to support marginalized colleagues.
- Ensure Legal Protection for DEIA Programs: As Natalie Musumeci emphasizes in Business Insider, ensuring DEIA initiatives are legally bulletproof is crucial to avoid being identified as “reverse discrimination”.
2. Strengthen Your DEIA Commitments
- Communicate DEIA as a Core Brand Value: Transparent messaging fosters consumer trust and brand loyalty. Build a blog like this by outing your stance in solidarity with the community.
- Engage with DEIA-Focused Organizations: Support initiatives like It Gets Better and refer to resources such as the WPATH Recommended Reading List (It Gets Better, WPATH Reading List).
3. Know how to respond
- Understand Why DEIA Faces Opposition: Many resist DEIA due to misinformation, fear of change, or perceived threats to traditional power structures. Harvard Business Review provides key insights on overcoming resistance (HBR Article).
- Prepare your DEI statement: Companies must be prepared to navigate backlash while maintaining integrity and upholding values of inclusivity. Find an expert LGBT+ PR advisor to help.

How To Support DEIA As An Individual?
People, when it feels safe, can also take immediate steps to uphold DEIA commitments by:
- Signing petitions to demand social media accountability (e.g., Tell Meta and the Consortium for Stronger LGBT+ Communities.)
- Supporting advocacy through Human Rights Watch (Secure Our Socials HRW Action)
- Leveraging data-driven insights that validate DEIA impact (TGEU Report).
Remember, there is no excuse for abuse. Reach out to Facialteam if you receive hate speech on any of our accounts. We have already begun to create a workgroup to contemplate solutions for our Peer Group and more.
DEIA on the World Stage
“A world where businesses hesitate to stand up for marginalized communities is a world where everyone is less safe. Now is the time to reinforce allyship, educate stakeholders, and ensure DEIA initiatives remain a cornerstone of corporate strategy. When others retreat, those who lead with inclusivity will emerge as trusted, forward-thinking industry leaders.
In today’s ever-changing digital landscape, the importance of innovating diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility (DEIA) cannot be overstated. While some companies are retreating from DEIA commitments, forward-thinking businesses like Costco Wholesale, Apple, Mastercard, and JPMorganChase are doubling down.
DEIA is not just a trend—it is the backbone of resilient leadership and consumer trust. Societal and economic challenges will persist, so it is imperative that businesses are unwavering in their commitment to fairness and equality, in a diverse society, with legally sound policy.”

Facialteam’s Perspective on DEIA
In an era where social impact is tied to integrity, we wish to uphold diversity, equity, inclusivity, and accessibility (DEIA) as foundational principles behind our work. By distancing from companies that roll back DEIA efforts, we reinforce that commitment.
At the moment, we are comparing alternative platforms and remain open to the suggestions of our community. Our social media profiles will remain in place for now, as we believe our story should remain public, not made invisible.
For this purpose, it’s crucial to boldly hold space in the public eye as a positive example that continues to ring clear on the validity of trans health, driving scientific inquiry on gender-affirming care, as well as continuing to amplify awareness of the challenges and the joys of the LGBTIQ+ community.
However, our priority is to focus our energies and financial resources on media providers that more closely align with our values. In the long term, we will minimize traffic and interactions on those platforms that eliminate important protections for minority groups, evolving into new and emerging digital media. You will be informed of this movement along the way.
Facialteam’s Commitment to Ethical Best Practices
As part of our commitment to the community, we ask organizations to weigh the perspectives on this topic while cognizant of their own intersections of gender, racial, sexual, educational and financial privileges.
We call on you to:
- Prioritize partnerships with businesses that uphold DEIA, demonstrating a dedication to fostering inclusivity, which still also retains sensitivity to the potential of reverse discrimination– so nobody is forgotten.
- Reduce engagement with companies that fail to uphold inclusive policies which would better moderate the exclusion of and hate speech of targeted minority groups.
- Align with organizations that actively champion DEIA based on facts, such as recommended by GLAAD.
Takeaway Message
Social media serves as a powerful tool for connection, education, and advocacy. When platforms weaken or remove DEIA commitments, they contribute to environments that enable discrimination, misinformation, and exclusion. Such actions undermine global progress on human rights and corporate responsibility.
In conclusion:
- DEIA initiatives on social media create safer, more inclusive communities that allow individuals to express themselves without fear of discrimination.
- Social platforms play a critical role in shaping public discourse, and their policies should reflect values that prioritize equity and human dignity.
- Businesses have a duty to align with platforms that uphold social responsibility, as this fosters trust, strengthens brand reputation, and ensures long-term growth.
