Facialteam wins bid to host EPATH 2027 in Granada, Spain
Facialteam was proud to once again participate in the EPATH’s 6th biennial conference, which took place this September in Hamburg, Germany. As long-standing members and sponsors of the European Professional Association for Transgender Health (EPATH), our involvement reflected a deep commitment to advancing gender-affirming care through collaboration, education, and evidence-based innovation.
A Legacy of Engagement with EPATH
Since its inception, EPATH has been a cornerstone for interdisciplinary exchange in transgender healthcare across Europe. Facialteam has been an active contributor throughout the years, supporting the organization’s mission with marketing assistance to organizers, participating in scientific panels, and sharing our clinical experience in facial gender-affirming surgery (FGAS).
Our presence at EPATH has always been about pushing the boundaries of clinical and scientific research as well as amplifying the voices of trans and gender-diverse individuals. Each edition of EPATH provides an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the global conversation on best practices in transgender health.
Hamburg 2025: State-Of-The-Art Symposia on Facial Gender Affirming Surgery
At EPATH 2025 in Hamburg, Facialteam’s founders were honored to present a State-of-the-Art Symposia focused on Facial Gender Affirming Surgery (FGAS). This session explored the latest scientific and surgical developments in the field, showcasing both data-driven outcomes and person-centered approaches that define our work.
Facilitated by our Research & Education division, the symposia was presented by Facialteam’s directors, Dr. Daniel Simon and Dr. Luis Capitán, with anecdotal experience by Victoria Vera, and offered in-depth insights on:
- Innovations in surgical planning and technique
- Long-term patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs)
- Interdisciplinary care models and future directions in research
It was an inspiring experience to bring clinical and academic perspectives together in a space that welcomed dialogue and shared learning across specialties.
Granada 2027: Facialteam Wins the Bid to Host the 7th EPATH Conference
Looking ahead, we are thrilled to officially announce that Facialteam Research & Education has been awarded the candidacy to host the 7th EPATH Conference in 2027, which will take place in the historic city of Granada, Spain.
Facialteam defended the bid for Granada at EPATH’s General Assembly, where the candidates were voted on. Our successful bid represents not only a milestone for our team but also an opportunity to bring the international transgender health community together in Andalusia—a region renowned for its cultural richness, inclusivity, and hospitality.
EPATH 2027 in Granada will be a landmark event with a focus on:
- Expanding interdisciplinary networks across Europe and beyond
- Elevating underrepresented voices in research and clinical practice
- Creating inclusive environments for both healthcare professionals and community stakeholders
