Sometimes, but the comparison only means something if it’s complete. Include travel, accommodation, recovery time, follow-up, and what any revision would cost – including getting back there. A lower surgical fee with minimal post-operative care attached isn’t a saving; it’s a cost deferred to a worse moment.

And there’s a limit to how useful price is as a criterion here. Experience, technique, and what happens if something needs attention matter more, because the cost of getting FFS wrong is rarely financial.
