yason voice centerHyung-Tae Kim, the director of Yeson Voice Center, one of the best ENT specialists in the areas of laryngeal surgery and treatment, established Yeson Voice Center in September, 2003 with its competitive voice examination system and specialized laryngeal surgeries and phonoplasty which is leading to the new paradigm of voice care center.

yeson2International patients from roughly 40 different countries are visiting Yeson Voice Center for its main surgery called ‘Vocal Folds Shortening and Advancement of Anterior Commissure’ (known as Voice Feminization Surgery) which skin incision is not required proving its safety and high satisfaction rate with minimized possible complications after surgery. Through this surgery, having a natural increase in one’s voice fundamental frequency is possible giving male to female transgender patients a permanently feminized voice.

Dr. Marci Bowers, M.D.

Dr. Marci Bowers, M.D., of Burlingame, Calif., is widely recognized as a pioneer in the field of Genital Reassignment Surgery and is the first transgender woman to perform transgender surgery.

She is a pelvic and gynecologic surgeon with nearly 25 years’ experience in Women’s Healthcare and working with the Transgender community. She is a University of Minnesota Medical School graduate and an Ob/Gyn product of the University of Washington in Seattle. There, she practiced as an Obstetrician/Gynecologist at The Polyclinic and Swedish Medical Center.

Dr. Bowers left Seattle in 2003 to join the legendary Dr. Stanley Biber, considered the “father of Transgender Surgery”. In 2010, she relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area and has now performed more than 1250 primary MTF/FTM Genital Reassignment Surgeries. In 2013, Dr. Bowers was recruited to operate and revive the transgender surgery program in Tel Aviv, Israel. She is sought after as a speaker and worldwide surgical educator.

Dr. Bowers is a member of WPATH, and serves on the board of directors for both GLAAD and the Transgender Law Center. Dr. Bowers has become an international authority on clitoral reconstruction for women who have suffered Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), one of a select few surgeons worldwide performing FGM reversal. She has been the subject of numerous documentaries, articles and features including appearances on Oprah, CBS Sunday Morning and Discovery Health.

Dr. Bowers was recently honored as one of the 100 most influential LGBT people on the Guardian’s 2012 World Pride Power List, in addition to being recognized as one of Huffington Post’s 50 Transgender Icons.
