Of Spanish and Dutch descent, outside of work he can be found in the boxing ring or spending time with his young family. A gentle bedside manner with a unique sense of humor that gets everyone giggling.
With an undergraduate degree in Medicine from the University Complutense of Madrid (2004), he obtained the title of specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery via the exclusive MIR system (2010) after 5 years of residency at the University Hospital Ramón y Cajal of Madrid.
In 2009, he also qualified as a Specialist in Aesthetic and Cosmetic Medicine, with honors, at the Complutense University of Madrid and in 2010 he obtained the Diploma of Advanced Studies with the highest score in the Department of Surgery of the University of Alcalá de Henares.
Dr. Bellinga then focused his specialization in Rhinoplasty in Dallas (USA) and Mexico City, and Facial Cosmetic Surgery, completing a fellowship at the Universitair Ziekenhuis Brussel in Brussels (Belgium).
Since 2013 he has centered his specialization on Facial Feminization Surgery, completing more than 1,200 FFS procedures together with Dr. Capitán and Dr. Simon, developing new and pioneering techniques in this surgical field.
He is author and co-author of important medical publications in the field of Facial Feminization Surgery.

Dr. Raúl J. Bellinga is a full member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), continuously supporting the association in the development of evidence-based medicine to promote high quality care for transgender individuals internationally.
