Dr. Luis Miguel Capitán Cañadas
With an undergraduate degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Granada (2000), he obtained the title of specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery via the exclusive MIR system (2006) after 5 years of residency at the University Hospital Virgen de las Nieves of Granada. Later he continued studies in Tissue Engineering, receiving his Doctorate cum laude at the Unviersity of Granada in 2006, with a Masters in Tissue Engineering.
Dr. Capitán then focused his specialization in Orthognathic and Craneofacial Surgery, completing scholarship residencies at the Institute of Maxillofacial Surgery and Implantology of Clinica Teknon in Barcelona alongside Dr. Hernández Alfaro, as well as in the Unit of Craneofacial Surgery and Dento-facial Deformities at the Morriston University Hospital of Wales (U.K.), alongside the Professor Adrian Sugar.
At this point he began his work as a faculty specialist. Since 2007, he has directed the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Unit of the USP Hospital of Marbella. In recent years he has centered his specialization on Facial Feminization, completing more than 300 FFS procedures together with Dr. Daniel Simon, developing new and pioneering techiniques in this surgical field.
Dr. Capitán is an active member of the Spanish Society for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
He is also registered as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with the Colegio de Médicos of Málaga (Spain).
