Seeking perfection in hairline feminization

Crown approach + hair transplants

Many candidates for FFS not only do not require a hairline lowering but even look better with a greater distance between the nasal root and the beginning of the hairline (Alexandra Hamer, Thesis on Facial Gender)

Over recent years, FACIALTEAM´s experts in facial feminization have been seeking the ideal approach to the forehead region, while avoiding visible scars in order to achieve natural results for those patients seeking a brow bossing reduction and an advancement of the hairline.

So, what options exist for patients who really do have an excessive vertical dimension of the forehead (distance between the nasal root and beginning of the hairline) and/or the typical M-shape hairline?

Thankfully, there are several options.

  1. First, determine if you are a candidate for surgical hairline advancement.
  2. Secondly, if you need hair transplants for a better hairline shape, determine when to do them: immediate or delayed hair transplants.

A forehead reconstruction only involves an incision at the hairline level and removal of redundant skin for a scalp advancement in specially indicated cases.

We ask, what problems are there with this technique?

  • Mainly that it can generate a visible scar, despite our advanced incision and suturing technique
  • It does not always completely solve the M-shape hairline since it is unable to obtain perfect results in the closure of the unwanted “widow peaks”, requiring hair transplants to improve this.

SOLUTIONS FOR FEMINIZATION OF THE UPPER FACIAL THIRD

The modified crown approach (Capitán & Simon), i.e. an incision completely hidden in the scalp, allowing us to access the forehead region easily.

Thereafter, hair microtransplant surgery is the best solution to redefine the hairline and for the closure of the entries since the results are more natural and predictable. Depending on the patient, either FUSS or FUE techniques would be recommended.

Thanks to FACIALTEAM´s refinement of the procedure and the incorporation of a leading Hair transplant specialists, it is now possible for some patients to have the transplants immediately or in the same week as FFS.

In only one treatment visit, the patient has feminized her forehead and brow bossing as well as redefined the hairline.

Offering treatment with a total absence of visible scars, we aim to achieve absolute excellence in the feminization of the forehead and the hairline.
